Mrs. Dalloway

After discussing Mrs. Dalloway in class I have come to realize that the choices and decisions that we make are finite. They cant be changed once they are made and often there are times when we wished that we had picked the other option. Clarissa to me is one of these people. She thinks about what her life might have been had she married Peter and not Richard. Just the fact that she is thinking about it shows us that maybe she does think that she made the wrong decision. Her life isnt fulfilling, all she does is plan parties and never worked. To some this isnt a satisfying life but to her it is life and what keeps her busy.

To me, this book is all about me, and you, and anyone else that lives out their life without making a huge splash in the world (but we're still young, there's hope haha). Thinking about a significant choice in the past is common and people often wonder "What if..." especially once they get older.

I totally agree with you. We can't change the past yet so many times we dwell on it and how much things could've been and would've been different.

I find I am like Clarissa a lot too. I do the 'what ifs' and wonder if I made the right decisions. However sometimes you need to accept you can't change the past and who knows that other decision you might think about might have made you even unhappier.
