To me, Ophelia seems to be the "maddest" character in the play.
But first, questions.
Did Ophelia really go mad or is this her grief talking?
Is she even crazy due to grief or did she go crazy from Hamlet's back and forthness on whether he loves her or not. I always thought that this reason is also logical and reasonable.
I also do not understand what in the world she is singing or why she is singing it. Is it solely because she has gone mad that she sings or is there a deeper message?
I also am not sure whether Ophelia committed suicide or not, because the Queen stated that the weight of her dress pulled her down when she laid into the water. Which to me, makes sense, because Im sure dresses those days were HEAVY and had LOTS of fabric. So perhaps in her madness, she went into the water and then inadvertently died.
Thoughts?

Ophelia was definately drawn into her madness. She cared about her dad so much that she started singing in order to show her pain. I also think her songs were 'sings' about her feelings and the people around took her for granted. I am a little confused about her death, but I can tell that just like Hamlet, Ophelia was ignored and not cared as much as people should have. I think she felt her father was that one person who actually cared about her.
