Gertrude
I don't know about how anyone else feels, but I find Gertrude highly irritating. She seems like such a weak woman and I think the way she speaks to Hamlet is not very motherly. I never admired her for deciding to marry Claudius so soon after her husband's death, and admired her less because she believed Hamlet should get over his father's death. She willingly believes her son to be mad at doesn't seem to care. She also lets Claudius send him away and even though she didn't know he planned to have Hamlet murdered, I don't believe she should have been so quick to get rid of her son instead of trying to help him through his grief. To me she just seems like a weak and uncaring woman.

I completely agree with you. How can a mother be so cold and cruel to her child. She never asked Hamlet for his opinion on how he felt about her marriage. What kind of mother thinks her own child is mad- she only realizes this from listening to Claudius. She should have helped her son or at least listened to him and believed him.
