Hamlet act 2

I really dont blame Hamlet for being undecided about what to do with the ghost's information. Number one he doesnt even know if what the ghost said is true. Two, its not easy to murder someone! Hamlet hesitates about wheather or not to kill his uncle. I actually think he is very smart. He comes up with a great idea to confirm what his uncle has done. He decides to catch the conscience of the king. He directs a play of a murder doing excatly what his uncle has done.

Hamlet may be dumb but my comment on his decision making would be that he puts it off, putts it off, then makes a SUDDEN decision. Sometimes, they work out, sometimes not. When did it work? When he constructed a scene for the players to recreate in recognizance of Hamlet's reality.

When did it fail? When he finally decides to kill the king, in Act 3, he actually kills Polonius instead, who was hiding behind a curtain.

I agree with you. I think it's perfectly natural to have a difficult time acting out revenge. Unless you're a cold blooded murderer, it would be very difficult to bring yourself to kill a person. Of course he is angry and would like to avenge his father, but it's easier said than done.
