the wife of bath's tale

I feel that she had to many husbands in her life time. But I don't think it was wrong of her to have 5 husbands. The men make it seem like she is evil and the church think of it as a sin that she have so many husbands. But what I don't understand is that its okay if a men should cheat or have more wives. If a man can do it so could a women because its their life. I think she made a good point about the church, on how the church tells you about marriage but they have no experience because they can't get married.
