hamlet act 2

i too read hamlet in high school and it was interesting to look further into hamlet and his personality. he was struggling with all these changes and was depressed about life in general. it is not too hard to believe because if you do the same thing to any kid today, they would have the same reaction, it is impossible to be forced into a situation like that without feeling some sort of pang. the language used with hamlet describes how he is feeling perfectly, because he is, in a sense confused and shocked and depressed all at once, thus causing his feel for vengeance!

I agree with this comment. The story of Hamlet can definatly happen today. Change Hamlet to Harry and Gertrude to Ginnette and there you go! The story of Hamlet happens very often theses days. A boy looses his father and his mother remarrys. OK, it is not very often that his mother remmarrys his uncle but it happens often that the mother remmarrys. This can be very tramatc for children. They feel as if their parent has been replaced. A child can become very depressed from the loss of a parent. Many times friends come in the picture to help the person become happy again. We see that with Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.
