Hamlet, Act 1 scene 3
I feel that the way they look upon society on marriage or who you talk to is wrong. As you may know Hamlet and Ophelia like each other but in their society it would be pointless to go further in their relationship. Her father and her brother don't want her to believe in Hamlets words of what he told her about liking her. They believe this because do to the fact that Hamlet live a life of belonging to a royal family, and his intentions don't matter that much and he's a slave to his family obligations. He can't simply make personal choices for himself the way common people can, since the whole country depends on what he does. His choice has to agree with what the nation wants. Since Ophelia does live in the royal life she cannot follow where her heart tells her to go and that would be Hamlet.
