Hamlet
Out of all of Shakespeare's works, Hamlet is my favorite. I've read Hamlet numerous times, each time with a different interpretation the characters, although, I've always felt sorry for Hamlet. The readers are compelled to feel empathetic towards him since his uncle murdered his father and his mother remarried Claudius way too soon after the death of her husband. This questions if she ever loved King Hamlet throughout their marriage in the first place. What type of person tells a child that they should no longer mourn their parents death? Both Gertrude and Claudius from the beginning make us question their authority and loyalty to King Hamlet. I also liked the relationship between Ophelia and her brother, and her relationship with Hamlet. I've watched different movies of Hamlet in high school and some of them have still never managed to be exactly like the book. To me this is a very dynamic work that I really enjoyed.

To me, all the signs point to a large, resounding NO to the question of whether Getrude ever loved King Hamlet. She has no empathy for her son after his death and gets married to her brother in law, not 2 months after he died.
