Dora
I think Freud is fascinating and I find that most of his thoughts about the mind are very plausible. However, it is the idea that he seems to always connect a person's problems with some sexual desire that just bothers me. Not only is it sexual but it is some sexual desire for one's parent. Like in Hamlet for example he says that Hamlet hates Claudius because he loves and wants his mother for himself. Not only do I find this idea disturbing, I find it absurd. I feel like Freud his own hidden agenda when finding the motives for a person's actions or psyche. By this I mean that the agenda always seems to find some way to connect the problem with a motive of his choice, i.e., some sexual fantasy regarding one's parent.
