Frederick Douglass, “If There Is No Struggle, There Is No Progress”. The most extreme form of abuse that in which is slavery where physically, mentally, and social implications are enforced and imposed. Douglass in a sense symbolizes the American dream; a constant battle till this day as the glass ceiling is raised, and social freedoms are taken away. Proposition 8, patriot act, Arizona removes affirmative action, one step forward and two steps back.
