t s elliot
these kinds of poems are unlike those that we are used to. instead of being repetetive and rhyming, they areless structured, switching to different speakers abruptly and without warning. ts elliot brings us this era after ww1 where nobody knows what to expect to what to do with this generation of nothing being known, or wxpected. this is why so many people of this generation came out wacked. his use of language when the couple is fighting is comfortable because of the realness to it and i enjoyed that!

I found that the fact that the poem wasnt structured and switched to different speakers added to my confusion. I do like that he talks about a time and the poem deal with the aftermath of WWI.
I agree with you Anita. The way the poem was structured was not what we normally see in a poem. Therefore, it was a bit confusing, especially when Elliot switched to different speakers.
I personally did not like the way he switched the speakers either, but after all this is form of art, and art can have different structures, shapes etc. Over all, he puts it together nicely with the discpriton of the WWI.
i have to agree that this poem was a little different to the poems that we have around read. i found it a little difficult to read on how it would jump from one speaker to another. i must say that i didnt like this poem so much.
