Freud's dreams

Dora is a story of a girl who suppressed several unpleasant events in her life that eventually began to manifest itself physically. Freud's search into Nora's dreams revealed to him her pyschological neuroses. The point, to me, of Freud's analyses is to show how Dora hid her most private feelings in her unconscious. Of course, Freud can't be Freud without linking 90% of her dreams to sexual feelings. I truly believe there is an unconscious, but the fact that a girl has "social or psychological problems" because she got stuck in the oral stage or she's jealous of her mother or has penis envy, etc, is a little harder and more far-fetched to believe.

I agree with you on both points. Yes I definitely believe there is an unconcious. Several people repress memories to forget them because they cannot handle them. It is very normal. However, I believe Freud's mind is always trying to connect things to sex, which I can understand as it's something that is natural in all people. But not everything has to do with sex, and repression doesn't always have to do with sexual reasons and I would argue with him 100% about that.
