great expectations
I love Pip's character. I genuinely feel bad for him and the situaiton that he's in. No child should have to live through the torture and abuse as he does. He is so neglected and has no connection with his sister that he ends up identifying with the convict instead of finding help in his family. The convict, like Pip, has no one to really turn to, no family, no identity, and has been kicked out society. Pip helps him out instead and shows that he is sympathetic despite harshness he has been subjected to.

I agree that Pip should NOT live through the torture and abuse as he does in the story. I understand him that he is going tgrough, because I was almost in the same situation as him when I was a child. I grew up with my grandma then dad and my mother was away working in another country. I also had similar problems with society, though I solved it by myself. I hope Pip is going to be ok at the end of the book...
I agree that no child no matter what should have to live the life he had. Being abused and neglected by his sister might have impacted his decision not to visit home when he comes to see Estella. I also agree that the convict and Pip are alike in the fact that they are both alone and criminals although in a different sense.
I feel so sorry for Pip as well. It's talk down and called "boy" and insulted constantly by Estella and can't relate to his sister because she's always wanting to hit him for no reason. Poor Pip!
