The Carcass

I was not disturbed by Baudelaire's descriptiveness in this poem. I actually loved the gory details, especially because they were written in such a beautiful form. Though he talks of death and decay you can't help but be enthralled by his way of describing it all. Since most people usually avoid the subject of death and don't talk about it- this poem lays down everything, in detail, for you to remember. Furthermore, i think it is just genius how though he speaks of death and decay he is really using the subject to express his love- a very complicated thing to do it seems, but done so easily by him. This poem was nothing like i have read before- i even read it to my family because i had to share it with someone.
