I first fought that Ophelias was guilty as any anybody trying to trap hamlet to meet his murderer uncle needs.Well after last class i came back and reread the play with a neutral view this time.I got the point that the professor was trying to get a cross. From my understanding i am now seeing Ophelias as the innocent who had been manipulated thought out all the scene that she was involved in.
First let start with the conversation with her brother.Then again she was told what to do. Not to follow her heart because Hamlet was a pure liar.
In addition to that view ,we read another scene where her father was telling her nearly the same thing about hamlet. Once again she was not allow to think of herself but was told what to do.
Finally the turning point where every body was expecting her to finally find out the Truth about Hamlet ,she was disappointed by him.Let say she was then again manipulated by hamlet.Broken hearted she had no one to turn to.As a final thought i do think that it is a shame we are always trying to take advantage of the innocent to get to where we want to be.

I also wasnt paying much attention to her when i read the book.
I felt very sorry for Ophelia and her death was sad and whimsical at the same time for me. She was being manipulated throughout the entire play as if she was a puppet.
