!!!!!!!! the dilemma of Ophelias's burrial!!!
Real dilemma! for those who knows the religion so well , i wish that you guys help me here.do you guys recall the clowns when they were arguing about whether Ophelias was to buried in christian burial? if so do you share the same idea as if she was not a member of the royal family , she wouldn't be buried in Christian cemetery.I know for fact that in Muslim religion if you kill yourself your case is very critical in the sense that God forbid the act of suicidal. How is it in Christianity? Is it the same ?do Christianity condemn suicidal?

Christianity, especially Catholicism, absolutely forbids suicide as a mortal sin. Under traditional rules, suicides cannot receive a Christian burial or be buried in consecrated ground--often they were supposed to be buried at the cross-roads outside of town along with executed criminals. The implication in Hamlet was that the King and Queen pulled strings to get Ophelia a proper burial, whether out of remorse or to avoid scandal. The minister reluctantly agrees to an abbreviated service at midnight. They are already trying to cover up the fact that their crazy son murdered Polonious. The play implies that their efforts at damage control are mostly unsuccessful. Their manipulation of power is causing civil unrest, both from Laertes and the common people.
