!!!!! hum that poem was deep today!!!!!!!!
i have to admit that i once again did not get this one when i first read it. But after today's class i finally starting to have a grip of it.Let first start when he reminisces on his trip five years ago.he first started living everything ,every sound as they appeared to him five years ago.Then he started escaping every day struggle to have a refuge in the subconscious.Hum deep stuff. Finally he realised that indeed five years ago he did not appreciate everything to their real values due to his young age.I guess maturity open a whole new window of appreciation of live.Things starts to run a little slower. Hum good stuff.I can wait for tomorrow's class.

You are not the only who first got it the first time. I had to read it several times and our discussion in class yesterday helped make sense of the ideas in the poem. I am excited myself about class today. I love this poem!~
I also tend to not read into the lines and get it until we discuss it in class. I dont know what the deal was with my two previous comments. sorry!
