Great Expectations
I think the class discussion about orphans was really cool. I never realized how many novels are about orphans. I actually used to make fun that in disney most princess movies or even the lion king, the protaganist generally has only 1 parent. Sleeping beauty had two but was'nt raised by them. I wonder if the reason behind all this is similar to the reason novels are orphan centric.

i never realized how many stories are based around that fact either. it does make for a very interesting story so i do understand the reason for it.
