ophelia's role in the play

many different things can be said about ophelia, one may say that she is the "dumb blonde" of the play that goes along with everything without so much as a thought ofher own, and we see her as a ditz, and the men in the play are just trying to pawn her off whenever it is convenient for them, they use her to stage a scene with hamlet, to see his madness but we end up seeing abit of her own! all the men in her life are forcing her into a world where she is no longer innocent and she is being pushed back and forth between these men all wanting her to do as they please...she is being forced to [articipate in a world where people deceive each other left and in the end she goes mad and kills herself....do we think this is something that was done to her by others or on her own?
